PRESENTATION LAYOUT

Practice makes perfect!
In Minor 1 project 2, it is a group work.
We produced one board for each group.
Now we are taking the project 2 from Minor 1 to do a presentation layout individually.

By having the chance to produce one board with almost complete information,
I played around with the layout.

Since the design is quite rustic, I make the whole board colour scheme brown.
I use the perspective view of the prototype as a hierachy.

But I fail to consider the size of the information I arrange.
Some of the pictures and words are too big.
It is a A1 board.
I feel that the bigger the board is, the more careful I have to be while judging the size of the information.
Another mistake is I didn't include our design ideation.
Ideation is very important to show our design process.

Well, I learn a lot from this board arrangement.
Will do better next time!
=)

MINOR 1 - PROJECT 3 THE NEXT I-CON

So, after building the big prototype, we come back to small prototype!

The very last assignment for minor is to design a reception counter for our Animation studio.
My reception counter is more in industrial revolution style.
So I use rustic steel and glass as material.

After designing, we have to build a scale 1:10 miniature.

My counter is in a curve shape.
I take quite some time to make sure it is in the right curve.
The modeling board is quite difficult to be bend.
But the final out come makes me quite satisfy with it.

The cupboards are all movable!
I individually like it so much~
I enjoy this model making so much!
EXPLORATION
It gives me a chance to explore~

I want more!
haha
Have to wait next semester then
;)

MINOR - PROJECT 2 RE-USE WORKSHOP

This is a big project!
It's a group work.
We need to use recycled material to build a book rack which can fit 100 books.
Vijay, Samaha, Hadis and I are in one group.

This is the first prototype we did.
The design doesn't work.
The rack is shaky and it is too bulky!
OH my gosh~
There is always problems between the design we sketch on a paper and when we create the real one!

But never mind, problems are always with solution.
We just have to FIND it!
Ha!
Here we goes~
A new design!
We cut away half of our design and make it a durable and less bulky book rack.

The design is a 2-in-1 book rack which not just a book rack but user can interact with the furniture.
There is a seat next to the rack.
User can lean on the book rack as back rest.
There is a lighting device hiding in a Tyre.
User can read with efficient lighting.

Our construction method is quite tough which our lecturer asked a question
"If the users want to buy and fixed it themselves, is it possible?"
It's totally impossible!
The connection between tyres are really tough.
But I am happy with the process~
I enjoy building this prototype with my group mates!
We are just so awesome!
Haha~

MINOR 1 - PROJECT 1 STARTER PACK

Minor class is a place for us to explore about many things!
The first assignment we get is to understand the structure of a furniture.
We have to search for a furniture that is already been built and suites our Design 3 style.
Then study the structure of it and who is the designer.

FELTY CHAIR- LAMAR PRETORIUS

This is my model

The chair seating, I use 2 normal felt with a aluminium sheet in between to create the shape.
I glued the felt on the aluminium sheet and then sewed the corner for the hand rest part.

I have met some problem while I am doing this model.
The material of the chair's leg is steel.
I have to bend a quite thick steel wire to build the structure.
It needs a lot of strength.
Another problem is "how to connect the wire?"
I cant weld it because it is too thick for welding.
At last I use soldering!
What a relief~
I finally solved the problem!

Sometimes, difficulty might block our way.
But there is always a way to solve it.
We just have to FIND the solution
;)

RELIEF MODEL

Extruding a 2D photo into a 3D model, this is what I have to do.

We have been to Damansara, which is our site for design project.
We have to study a specific building on site and design a space in it.
For viz comm, we have to find an angle of the facade and build a relief model.

This is my very first time doing it.
I am quite exciting because we are going to make a flat image into 3D!
This is the final outcome of my model.
The only thing I did wrongly is the staircase.
It should be straight but not slanted.

A good try!
Although it is time consuming, I have fun while doing it!

PRESENTATION LAYOUT

Completed manual drawing, now we are going into computer SOFTWARE!

The requirement is to grab pictures from internet and do a presentation layout.
At first, my layout is controlled by bubble.
All the information is trapped in a bubble.
It is too rigid.

Then my lecturer gave me some advice and I improved it.
This is the final outcome which I am quite satisfy with it.

Through this process, I know that section must always be in bigger scale than the floor plan.
Elevation is not that important and and be scale down.
All drawing must be labeled with name and scale.
The language of the whole board must be there.
If everything is angled, then can't suddenly put a curved shape in the board.
These are the mistakes I did during this assignment.
And now I know what is the right way to do it!  =)

RAPID VISUALIZATION 6

THE LAST RAPID VISUALIZATION TASK
It is a group work.
My partner Vijay and I produce this work in class between 1 hour time.

We have done some discussion before starting.
After that, we have to start drawing.
I was lack of confident to draw but my partner gave me some encouragement.
Finally we completed between the time given.
Although it is not that perfect, but it is a good try!
