EURO EXPERIENCING TRIP - LONDON

After experiencing the city, Paris,
it's time to move to another city
LONDON!
We took train from Paris to London.
It takes around 2 hours time.
When we reach London, the city is ready to welcome us,
as there is a signboard in the tube station, which made our day =)
175 steps, don't use except emergency!

This time in London, we went out after settling down our luggage at our hostel.
THE GENERATOR.
It's a very cool hostel, just that the room is a little narrow.
But the environment is very good, and there is 24 hours security.

So we went to Covent Garden after settling down.
Covent Garden is a market with a lot of street performance.
When we reached, we managed to see some violinist
playing their instrument while dancing.

We have our first FISH & CHIP in Covent Garden.
After that we have a show to run!
THE LION KING
It's a nice performance.
I like their costume, stage design and the music so so so much!
My heartbeat keeps on follow the rhythm of the music~
It's a fantastic show.

2ND DAY IN LONDON
We went to science museum in the morning.
There are lots of interactive exhibition in the Museum.
I turn become a kids once I enter.
If there is a button, I will just push and see what happened.
If there is a handle, I will just turn it around.
After that, we went to Piccadilly street.
You have our lunch there and explore their shops.
You can get cheap souvenir here.
And also cheap shoes and clothes.
I have bought some tea in a shop.
After that, I went to a coffee shop, Costa.
Ordered a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallow.
EM EM~ Yummy~
After that, we walk along the street, and took bus to Covent Garden.
We just walk around, free and easy.
.

3RD DAY IN LONDON
Today we are going BUCKINGHAM PALACE!
To watch the guard changing ceremony.
We reached there quite early.
And it's good because we can stand at a good place for a good view of the ceremony.
The guards are wearing a very tall and fluffy hat.
Some of it has hide the guards eyes.
Can they really see?
I think so, because they can march in a line. LOL
Next to the Palace, there is a big green park.
Very nice and comfortable resting place for weekend.
Finish viewing the ceremony, we depart to Kids Discovery Land.
The owner bring us for a tour around the space.
It's a land for kids to explore and express their creativity.
We went to Olympic park.
The park is now open for public to use the facilities there.
There is a water fountain there.
I wanted to run into and play! but I didn't, because I don't have extra clothes. awh...so sad...
After getting some rest at the park, we proceed to
BIG BEN
We managed to hear the bell rings at 7pm.
From big ben, we can see London Eye.
A little walking distance, and we reach the West Minster Abbey church.
Where Prince William married Kate.

4TH DAY IN LONDON
On the journey to Arsenal Football Stadium, we stop by at Kingcross Station.
There! Harry Potter's 9 3/4 platform!
Haha, we queue to take photo at there.
We went to the Tate modern museum.
The exhibition is about modern art, free entrance.
The museum is like a maze.
It's circulation is a little messy for me.
After that we went to Tower Bridge.
Then we go Royal Festival Hall.
There is a night market, selling many delicious food.
I wish I can have 2 stomach for me to eat all of it!
I like the Royal festival hall circulation.
Each entrance of the hall has their own waiting area and bar.

4TH DAY IN LONDON
We checked out at 10am and keep our luggage at our hostel.
We went to Portobello Market,
There are many foods! And some of the stall owner is so friendly.
We tasted the red velvet cupcakes from the humming bird cupcake house.
YUM, the texture of the cake is so different from the previous cupcakes i tasted.
It is a little rough, but with the whipped cream on top, it is wonderful!
There are also some street performance.
The music makes the passenger move with their rhythm.
After the market, we went to our last destination
ABBEY ROAD.
Why we are there?
To capture a same cover photo as the BEATLES!
To capture a perfect photo, we have risked our life for it.
The road is quite busy, sometimes we might be honed by the cars
as we are blocking their way.
"I am so sorry, but I am afriad, you have to let me take a selfie before I let you pass by!"
LOL

This is the end of my journey~
I do learn many things beacuse of this trip.
From preparation, I learn how to do research about
what attraction there are in a city we wanted to visit.
This is important because we can save up a lot of time running around the city
without any clue!
I also learn how to tour around a city by just using a map and our leg!
It is a really great experiencing!

But this will not be the end of my experiencing,
I WILL BE BACK!
Stay tuned~

EURO EXPERIENCING TRIP - PARIS DAY 4

Final day in Paris.
IS MY FAVOURITE DAY !!

Because.
we are going
DISNEY LAND !!
This is my dream when I was a kid.
And this is my first Disneyland theme park experiencing.

Today, my class is the group in charge to lead everyone to Disneyland.
We have done some research yesterday night.
And we do successfully lead everyone there before the Theme park open.

I have experience many rides and show in the park.
I really like music!
I like the Animagique show, the Disney Magic on Parade.
And the most beautiful show, the night Disney Dreams.
I once was very active in events during my secondary school time.
All these shows are prepared and perform by many actors and staff behind the scene.
I feel so touch when I watch these show.
And it has lighten up some passion of mine do involve in these kind of event
in future!

After I spend my whole day in Disneyland,
I only found out,
Disney animations have accompanied me for almost 21 years.
It's so amazing.
I really fall in love with the music, the art performance of Disneyland park.

Have had a fantasy day.

EURO EXPERIENCING TRIP - PARIS DAY 3

14-09-2014

Today we are going Villa Savoye, design by  architect, Le Corbusier.
9am, we start our journey from hostel to Charles de Gaulle Etoile RER A station.
The train we are going to ride is a double decked train.
While we are waiting for the train, we saw a cleaner.
He is cleaning the vandalism drawing on the wall.
This train station's environment is not very good.
I can smell urine at the waiting area, and there is lots of rubbish on the floor.

Forget about the bad environment,
we are now in the train, heading to Poissy.

While the train go further, I can feel that we are going nearer to country side.
From tall buildings to small houses.
More green and nature elements.

We reached Poissy station around 10am.
Now we are going to wait for bus to reach Villa Savoye.

The pathway which leads to villa savoye.
I have studied villa savoye this building,
but I didn't know that it has such nature environment.

This is Villa Savoye.
It is a villa for Le Corbusier and his family.
It looks simple and blend into the environment.
It is a modern architecture design.
I am so lucky to be here to experience the space.

There is this little flower around the ground.
The contrast between it and the grass caught my attention when I was going to step on it.

The environment is so relaxing

We all started to roll around and lie on the grass

This place is so peaceful.
Standing under the shades by the trees, feel so secure.
Cool wind surrounding, you may just fall asleep if you just sit down quietly.
Peace

After a peaceful morning, let's have a afternoon with joy!
When we reach  Charles de Gaulle Etoile station,
we walk up to the strees and WALAH !
There is street performance with huge crowds!

Arc of Triomphe
It stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle.
It is an art historical images of
European and North American architecture and sculpture
from classical Greek to Post-modern.

After taking photos with this famous monument,
we are moving on to Art street.

In Paris, you can find many boutique beside a walkway.
They normally sells magazines, postcards, and some groceries.

I noticed that in Paris, the cars on the road is less than people on the walkway.
Looks like people in Paris walks a lot !

A hourse car !
The white hourse looks so fantasy.
Just like the hourse ride by prince charming.
It will be wonderful by touring around the city in this car.

So we took metro to the Belleville station.

At this street, the artists have the freedom to express themselves.
They draw on the wall, turn a pole into a art piece, even a pot supporter.
There are also many artist workshop.
But when we are there, most of them are closed.

Anyhow, we manage to visit an artist workshop.
His name is Laoutec.
He draws its inspiration sources childhood and intimate attendance of Lascaux,
the welcoming mother of the arts.
The evolution of his work resembles the artistic adventure of an imaginary civilization.
His artwork floats out when you see them with 3D specs.
It's cool !

After a long walk for the whole day, I sat down at the side of the road for a rest.
Then, a fluffy fair dog pass by.
Paris people likes to bring dog walking around in the cities.
It's so lovely, human and dogs, the most loyal friend.

He sit down patiently beside his owner
while his owner is buying something in the boutique.

After a joyful noon, we end it with a
Romantic night~
We visit the Eifel tower again.
But this time, it is at night!
The lighting effects make me feel that
the Eifel tower has worn a golden garment.
It is totally different from the day time.
It's like~
Day time it represents a gentleman
Night time it represents a lady.

EURO EXPERIENCING TRIP - PARIS DAY 2

13-09-2014

Good Morning Paris!
A little windy with some warm from the sunshine
What a nice day for walking around in city

A very free and easy breakfast - Ham cheese sandwich
Bought from Casino located next to our hostel,
"Aren't that ridiculous? You seriously bought a sandwich from casino??"
I am not kidding, the market name is "Casino"
Gotcha!! haha...
My friends and I make this joke almost everyday when we are in Paris.

Where are we going today?
Musee du Lourve
We are taking train to Palais Royal.

Since we have came to such a beautiful city, we didn't directly stop at Palais Royal station.
We stop by at Sully Morland station and have some walk to our destination.
Luckily we take this walk, as we get the chance to
view many beautiful scene and feel the morning breeze~
I like the way they grow flowers in front of their window.
It brings the feel of harmony between human and environment.

Doors in Paris city is slightly bigger than the normal door.
The buildings are decorated with many ornaments.
Many arches can be found.
In Paris, there are Taxis, which provide natural ventilation.
Some of the driver even decorate their taxi to attract customer.

Notre Dame
A gothic style cathedral.
How to identify it is a gothis architectural?
The main three element is rose windows, gargoyles and flying buttresses.
The arches is pointy, not as curve as the roman arches.

I noticed this window design on the roof.
I am so into this kind of balcony and a little space under the roof~
The second pictures, shows a building under renovation.
Not to let the visitors to miss out the building,
they create a facade wallpaper.
People will still know what the building looks like.
Last photo, is the famous key lock bridge in Paris.
Couples come here and lock a key pad lock together at the fence and throw the key into the river.
It's a sign of having a forever love.

The entrance of  Musee du Lourve is in Greek architectural style.
From the left top picture, we can see the pediment and the composite column.
In the tunnel of entrance, there is Tuscan column.
The building is full with detail ornaments and arch windows.
The column on the facade is just as decoration, they do not carry weight.

There is a pyramid glass structure in the center of the square.
It is design by I.M Pei.
It is the entrance to the museum.
The right top picture shows the welcoming area of the museum.
The glass structure makes the welcoming area bright.
Looking up to through the glass, you feel that the sky is near to you.
But it is slightly hot because the glass trapped the heat of sun.

Inside the museum, the ceiling is all arches.
It remains the historical building's texture.
The museum exhibits sculptures and many ancient civilization's antiquities.
Due to time limitation, I manage to browse through
neolithic civilization, sculptures of ancient Greek, Islamic antiquities.
Lastly, we went to the Painting gallery.
The gallery's ceiling has skylight with transparent glass.
This avoided glare when visitors are viewing the art pieces.
The famous Mona Lisa painting is there.
And this is my first time to feel big pieces of painting in such a big space.

There are some little carving on the wall of the museum.
I like the delicate handwork of it.

Come on, the ancient people already know how to selfie?
We are just too outdated.
Gags! xD

At another entrance of the Museum, which connected with a mall,
there is an inverted glass pyramid.
The pyramid marks the intersection of
two main walkways and orients visitors towards the museum entrance.

It was meant as an object but it is an object to transmit light.

This museum is really HUGE! You gonna spend the whole day only you can go through each area.

When we exit the museum, it's time for lunch!
we have our lunch at the food court in the mall which connected to the museum,
as we need to continue our journey to Pompidou.

Stepping out from the underground museum,
finally we saw some sunshine!
The road sign in Paris caught my attention.
It can clearly guide you to many places at once!
If I were a kid and can reach the road sign,
I would like to spin them all!
*evil*
then everyone will get a wrong guide? LOL !!

While walking to Pompidou, I found out there is a row of bicycle along the road.
With a paying machine beside the road.
People can rent it and travel around the city.
It's so great!
It reduce the traffic and protect the earth.
It is paid by hours.

Passing by some groceries.
The plants and fruits grew in country with four season,
is different with my country with tropical weather.
The plants are in bright colours.
The tomato is so big and looks delicious.

There is a construction site near Pompidou.
The project is to renovate the Chatelet Les Halles metro station,
and connect the station to a cathedral with a long park.
The box container stacking up is the office and the staff's temporary dwelling for the construction.
It looks so tidy and comfortable for the workers on site.

 And
Finally! We reached our destination
Centre Georges Pompidou
It is so beautiful!
The concept of the building is " EXPOSE"
All the services are exposed.
And the main material used are steels and glass.

The services on the ceiling is all exposed.
The elevators' are also not box up.
The staircase is not supported by column but by using steel wire to hang it.
So, there we go, ticket to enter the exhibition.
It cost 10 euro.

Going up!
Up we go to the exhibition area
through the cylinder escalator.

The art piece in it is totally a contrast with what we see in Musee du Lourve.
The art pieces here is modern art.
I have had a great time in it.
Guessing what the artist is trying to express.
I even use my own way to read the art work.
It is wonderful.

Sky is getting darker.
Time flies when I spend my time in the Pompidou.
There is a level which is a resource area.
It is restricted for members only i think.
There is also a sky restaurant.
It is a very high class restaurant served by waiter in suit.

We hang around in the Museum until it close.
They close at 9pm.

Walking to the Pyramides metro station, we are prepared to go back to hostel.
In the journey of this train, I met a cute little kids.
He is sitting in a baby stroller, pushed by his dad.
When I have eye contact with him, he smile shyly.
At first I thought I am too tired, maybe he is not smiling to me.
But after a few times I have eye contact with him, his smile become more obvious.
Hahaha, he is so cute because after a few times, he hide his face under his teddy bear.
He still peep me.
Then I started to play with him.

It has been a tiring day and I actually can't feel the sense of welcoming by the citizens is Paris.
While, this little kids made my day.
His smile makes me feel warm and welcomed.
I waved goodbye to him when he left.

There is a big food vending machine at the opposite of our hostel.
It's cool! Ans I tried it myself.

Well, I end my day with a wonderful lamb kebab sandwich meal.
It taste good.

Have a great meal with some of my friends and lecturers =)
Keep calm and just enjoy!
Tomorrow is another excited day!
