ASSIGNMENT 2.1 - PARALINE PROJECTIONS

In class exercise

Done 5 drawings for assignment 1
Finally we are going into assignment 2

EXPLODED DRAWING

Exploded plan oblique drawing illustrates how structure
and major design component relate to each other.

We have to base on the floor plan we did before
To produce a scale 1:100 exploded drawing.
I have to start with a draft drawing on A3 cartridge paper.

When I am doing this assignment,
I keep on asking my lecturer a lot of questions
Because I feel hesitant.

I really learn a lot from my lecturer about how to produce a proper exploded plan oblique.
1. During dividing the plan, it must be in grid.
2. Boundary of the building structure must be in thickest line.
3. Dotted line is needed to show the connection of those broke up space.
4. Thickness of pen:
-thickest: external part of building
- thick: internal wall and openings
-thin: furniture
-thinnest: floor texture

I am satisfy with my work
Just that I have some lines are not in good quality
Those small red circles are where the lines are not firm enough
I have get 9/10 for it

ASSIGNMENT 1.2 - ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTION (SECTION)

Bring home exercise~

SECTIONS

Section is also used to illustrates wall design, wall finishes, built-in furniture design,
 floor level and ceiling level.

As shown in the drawing, it is more detailed than the Internal Elevation.
It is like cutting a house, than looking at its section cut of
Wall, floor, roof, ceiling.
So their thickness need to be shown.

I am required to draw 2 sections.

In Section A-A,
My sofa is a bit out of scale.
It is too high.
Normal sofa is around 700 mm, mine is 1000 mm.

In Section B-B,
I have missed out a few object's section which is
Built-in cabinet, a partition wall, sofa and a low cabinet sections.
The reason I didn't draw them because I thought they are not on my section cut line
 showed on the plan.
But actually the line do cut over them.

I have missed out the symbol for labelling again.
=p

But overall, my marks is 9/10
Not bad

ASSIGNMENT 1.2 - ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTION (INTERNAL ELEVATION)

In-class assignment~

INTERNAL ELEVATION

Internal Elevation illustrates wall design, wall finishes, built-in furniture design,
 floor level and ceiling level.

In this assignment, I need to use different darkness pencil to show depth.
The further object will be in lighter line quality
While the nearer object will be in darker line quality.

I have made a mistake for this assignment.
I have drawn the wall, floor and roof thickness.
(It is not in the drawing because lecturer told me about my mistake
And I corrected it before submission)
We don't have to show wall, floor and roof thickness
Because this is internal elevation, not section.
We are concentrating on the internal furniture design.
I have learnt new things from this assignment~
=)

This time i do show the difference between lines.

I get 10/10 for it

ASSIGNMENT 1.1 - ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTION (RC PLAN)

Another bring home exercise~

REFLECTED CEILING PLAN

This assignment is to draw a Reflected Ceiling Plan.
This plan illustrates ceiling design, ceiling height, lighting arrangement and all mechanical and electrical services arrangement.

The requirement is to draw the plan on tracing paper with felt tip pen.

Same as the previous plan,
I have to use different pen to show different thickness.
Such as 0.6, 0.4, 0.2 felt tip pen.

The problem I met when I am doing this assignment is
I feel difficult to control the ink of pen.
There is many tiny light fitting symbols.
To make sure the overall drawing looks tidy,
I have to be very careful while drawing them.
Have to prevent too much of ink coming out from the pen.

I manage to control the ink of pen
The marks I get is 10/10

Good job!

ASSIGNMENT 1.1 - ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTION (MF PLAN)

After Ground Floor Plan,
I have to complete Mezzanine Floor Plan at home.

ARTIST STUDIO'S MEZZANINE FLOOR PLAN

Same as Ground Floor Plan,
I have to draw a title block first
And then a plan with different line quality to show different element.

After drawing the ground floor plan,
I have more confident while drawing Mezzanine Floor Plan.

This time I didn't make the same mistake in last assignment
Included the symbol for labelling
And the section cut line is continuous.

Comment from my lecturer is
1. The quality of work is good
But still lacking of line thickness understanding.
2. The drawing looks flat and has no difference between lines.

I am still afraid while choosing darkness of pencil.
Too careful.
That's why the  difference of line thickness are not obvious.
My construction lines and grid lines look similar too.
The grid lines should be darker than the construction lines.

The marks given is 8/10
I should be more confident while doing my work.
Same for the other courses in my interior architecture studies.

Nothing to be afraid,
We learn from mistake!
=)

ASSIGNMENT 1.1 - ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTION (GF PLAN)

The day before my very first Design Communication (dcomm) class for SEM2 (9/7/13)

 from my dear lecturer:
" please bring all the  technical drawing tools,
We are going to have class tomorrow"

This is the difference of SEM 2 and SEM 1...
Everything come so fast and efficient!!

ARTIST STUDIO'S GROUND FLOOR PLAN
MY SEM 2 VERY FIRST TECHNICAL DRAWING
What is Furniture Layout Plan ?
It illustrates space configuration, wall arrangement
And furniture arrangement.

the last time I did technical drawing was 2 months ago.
I actually feel a bit difficult to start this drawing.

Before starting the plan drawing, we are required
To write the title block with architectural lettering
at the right side of the A3 cartridge paper.
(i was wondering...the title block is quite different from SEM 1)
(am i going to write this kind of title bock for the whole SEM 0.0 )
XD

This type of title block is needed in a plan drawing for interior architect to communicate with contractor.

For the plan,
I have to use different pencil to show different line weight between wall, floor and furniture.
I feel hesitant while choosing the darkness of pencil.
So I failed to differentiate the line quality between
Furniture and floor finishes.
They look similar.

And lots of little things, I didn't manage to do it well.
1. I have missed out the symbol for labelling.
2. The line indicating symbol for "section a" is not continuous.

Overall I get 8/10
It is a good start.
Looking forward to my coming assignment!
